Raichal McDonald is a wife and mother who has served the Central Texas area since 2017 providing perinatal education and hands on care for birthing people. Originally from Mississippi, Raichal strives for true informed consent, reproductive justice, and perinatal health of all birthing people. Since graduating from Saint Edward’s University in 2016 with her BA in Sociology and Pre-Medicine, she has worked alongside community organizations from Child’s Advocacy Center and Salvation Army in order to continue her work in the community. She has been a certified birth support companion since 2017 (StillBirthday) and continued her education in community engagement, implicit bias, and perinatal health. She also creates inward and outward facing virtual training via Teachable including Perinatal Childbirth Education for families, monthly meetings for birthworkers, Postpartum Birthworker Training, and Dispatch. Raichal is also in the community, networking with hospitals and clinics, leading the MHEC/GALS Baby Showers, managing GALS social media, and more. Her next goal is training in perinatal studies as well as aligning her talents with non profits and other organizations that served the public directly as well as transparently.
